GTA 5 Account for FiveM: Download Only vs Full Access Setup

What a GTA 5 Account Is For in FiveM

FiveM is a multiplayer mod that runs through a copy of GTA 5 on PC. You launch FiveM through your GTA 5 installation, and the mod drops you into roleplay servers its developers run separately from Rockstar's own online mode. That means you need a GTA 5 account that can launch the game before FiveM will let you in.

When you buy a GTA 5 account from us at Nexys, the account is a real digital license for GTA 5 on PC. You use it to claim the game on your platform, pull down the files, and then point FiveM at that installation. Without a valid GTA 5 license, FiveM has nothing to launch.

Who This Is For, and Who It Is Not For

This guide is for new FiveM players who own a PC and want a working GTA 5 license to play on roleplay servers. It is also for budget buyers who want the cheapest legal way to get onto FiveM without owning GTA 5 through Steam or Rockstar already.

It is not for players who already own GTA 5 on PC. If you bought the game on Steam or the Rockstar Launcher, you can run FiveM with what you have, and a second account adds nothing. It is also not for console players, because FiveM is PC only and our account options here are PC access levels.

Download Only vs Full Access: What Transfers

The two GTA 5 account options at Nexys are Download Only and Full Access, and the difference comes down to exactly what you get at delivery.

Download Only

Download Only is the budget license option. It gives you the GTA 5 game files so FiveM can launch, and it is the cheapest way to get on the platform. The account name and details are shared across buyers, and you do not get a personal login you control.

This suits players who just want to play FiveM and do not care about owning a personal account. It is the standard pick for budget roleplay servers where the only requirement is a working GTA 5 install.

Full Access

Full Access hands you a personal account with the login credentials transferred to you. You get the email and password and can change them to ones only you know. This is the option to pick if you want the account to stay yours and work like a normal owned copy, including on your own recovery details.

Full Access costs more, but it transfers control. Download Only transfers use of the files; Full Access transfers the account itself.

How Delivery Works

Your order arrives after you buy through the product page. The account details and download instructions reach you through the delivery method shown on that page, and you use those details to claim and install GTA 5 on your PC.

With Download Only you are getting shared access to the game files. With Full Access you are getting credentials you own. Check the product page before paying so you know which one you are buying and what delivery method to expect.

Setup, Step by Step

Before you start, you need a PC that can run GTA 5 and a copy of the FiveM client installed. The FiveM launcher is free and separate from your GTA 5 purchase.

1. Buy the GTA 5 account option that fits you from the Nexys product page.
2. Pick up the delivery details from your order and open the download instructions.
3. Claim the game on the platform the account uses, then let it install the full game files on your PC.
4. Install the FiveM client from the official site and run it once.
5. Point FiveM at your GTA 5 installation folder when it asks.
6. Launch FiveM and join a roleplay server.

If you bought Full Access, log in with your transferred credentials first and keep the recovery details handy, because you will change them in the next step.

What to Secure Right After Delivery

For Full Access, secure the account immediately. Change the email to one only you control, change the password, and turn on two-factor authentication if the platform offers it. This closes the window where the previous details still work.

For Download Only, there is no personal account to secure, because you are not logging into a profile you own. Just keep your order details in a safe place in case you need to reinstall or reach support.

The Mistakes That Cause Most Support Tickets

The most common issue is buying Download Only while expecting Full Access. These are two different products, so read the option you select before checking out. If you want control of the account, choose Full Access.

Another frequent mistake is trying to use a GTA 5 account on a different region or platform than the one offered. These options are for GTA 5 on PC, so a console order will not work for FiveM. Confirm your setup matches PC before you buy.

Skipping the post-delivery safeguarding on Full Access is the third one. Leaving the original recovery details active means the account is not fully yours. Change them the day you receive it.

FAQ

Do I need GTA 5 from Steam to play FiveM?

You need a valid GTA 5 license on PC, but it does not have to be through Steam. A Nexys GTA 5 account gives you that license so FiveM can launch.

Can I play FiveM with Download Only?

Yes. Download Only gives you the game install FiveM needs, and many players run it this way for the lower price.

What is the difference between Download Only and Full Access?

Download Only gives you shared use of the game files. Full Access transfers a personal account with credentials you can change and keep.

Do I keep the Full Access account forever?

Full Access gives you the account credentials and the option to secure them as your own. What happens on a recall or reclaim depends on the policy on the product page, so read it before buying.

Will my account work on other platforms?

No. These GTA 5 account options are for PC only. They will not give you access on PlayStation or Xbox.

Remember that account sales and sharing can go against publisher terms of service and may result in suspension or loss of access. Buy with that in mind and keep the account secured after delivery.
