Nexys VPN License FAQ: Devices, Renewal and Fixes

Published Oct 24, 2026

Answers to the questions we get most about Nexys VPN licenses: how many devices they cover, what happens at renewal, how updates work, and what to do when a key won't activate.

How many devices does my Nexys VPN license cover?

That depends on which VPN you pick, because the three options at Nexys set their own device allowances. IPVanish, NordVPN and Mullvad VPN each have different limits.

Before you buy, open the product page for the exact number it covers. Most people run a VPN on a phone, a laptop and maybe a tablet, so check that the license fits how many screens you actually use.

Does my VPN license renew automatically?

The Nexys VPN products are one-year licenses, so they run for twelve months from when the key activates. They do not auto-renew or bill you again on their own.

When your year ends, you simply grab another key from the store and activate it the same way you did the first time. Keep the same email handy so the switchover is smooth.

How long does one year of coverage actually last?

Your license counts from activation, not from the moment you place the order. So if you activate the key next week or next month, the clock starts then.

That matters if you buy ahead while a deal is running. Your full year begins the day the key goes live, not the day you check out.

Can I move my VPN license to a different device?

Yes, in the normal sense. These are software licenses tied to your account with the VPN provider, not to one physical machine. As long as you stay within the device limit, you can log out on one device and log in on another.

You generally manage this from inside the VPN app itself, where it lists the devices on your account. Remove an old one before adding a new one if you have hit the cap.

Can I transfer my license to another person?

Transferring a VPN license is not really how these work. The key is tied to the account you set up when you first activated it, and you cannot hand that activation to someone else and keep it clean.

If a friend wants a VPN, the simpler route is for them to buy their own key. That gives them their own account and their own year of coverage.

Does my license include updates?

Yes. During your one-year window you get the normal updates to the VPN app and to the service itself, which is how the providers keep adding servers and keeping the software current.

You do not need a new key to keep the app patched. Your existing license covers updates for the full period you bought.

My VPN key will not activate. What is the first thing to try?

Double-check that you copied the key exactly, with no missing characters and no stray spaces. The most common activation failures are typos and pasting a key into the wrong login box.

If that is not it, try again after closing and reopening the app, and confirm your internet connection is stable during activation. VPN apps sometimes fail to register a key on a weak or blocking network.

What if my key is genuinely invalid or the software will not install?

Our refund policy covers this case. If a product key does not activate or is invalid, or software fails to install because the product itself is defective, we will look into it.

Contact support with the order details and a description of the error. As long as the problem is on the product side and we cannot resolve it, a refund is considered under the policy.

Can I use my VPN for streaming and gaming at once?

Yes, but a VPN routes all of your traffic through its servers, so your whole connection uses that tunnel. That is exactly what you want for privacy on public Wi-Fi or dodging regional blocks.

The tradeoff is speed. Choose a server close to your location for the best balance, and remember a VPN does not fix a slow home connection, it just secures it.

Which Nexys VPN should I actually buy?

All three are solid, but they aim at different people. NordVPN is the industry-standard pick for a rounded mix of speed and features. IPVanish suits users who want reliable speed without fuss.

Mullvad VPN is the privacy-first choice, built around collecting the least personal data and giving you total control. Decide what matters more, features or anonymity, and pick accordingly.

What do I do when my year is up?

Grab a fresh key from the store and activate it in the same app. Your new year starts at activation, just like the first one did.

If you bought your current license and it expired while you were away, there is no penalty. Buy again whenever you are ready and your coverage resumes.

Where can I check the device limit and system requirements?

The product page is the single source of truth for both. Device limits and what operating systems each VPN supports can change, so the listing shows what applies to that key.

If anything on the page is unclear, reach out to support before you buy. It is easier to ask first than to swap your license afterward.
